Promotion

This weekend I got an amazing opportunity with Forever Interactive.  I was offered the position of Art Director for the company.  After discussing what responsibilities the new position would entail, and discussing it with my professor, I decided to take on the job.  So, I went from being a little intern to becoming Art Director.  I'm very excited to have such an opportunity to gain leadership and real-world experience with this.  Plus, this is going to look AWESOME on my resume :)

Wish me luck! :D

Senior 1

This quarter at school I am in my first senior class, Senior 1.  It's a lot of fun because I get to do a lot of painting (because my focus is conceptual design/painting).

The image I've included with this post is just some hairstyle ideas for the Caterpillar character (who's now a butterfly or moth, actually) in my twist of Alice in Wonderland.  You can find some other pieces I've done for this project in my deviantart gallery ( fatale16.deviantart.com/gallery )

Internship

Above is the work I've done with my internship at Forever Interactive (an indie game-developer) so far. ( Foreverinteractive.com ) I am doing illustrations for Encounter Cards. They're hexagon-shaped because the tiles for the board of the game are hexagon shaped. The project I am working on is called Visions of Zosimos, and it's going to be an online board/card game whose storyline ties into FI's main project, Infernal World (an MMORPG).

Working with FI has been a blast so far. Everyone there is nice, and productive. It's neat that I get the opportunity to network with the team at FI. I really appreciate that they like my work so much. It means a lot to me :)

Before discovering FI, I was getting really discouraged about internships. Most places want you to come in and work for them during your summer break. Since I attend The Art Institute of Washington, I only get 3 weeks of summer break. So for a while I was nervous I wouldn't be able to take on an internship before I graduate. But with FI, I can do all the work from home :) It's such a nice opportunity that I am really grateful for.

I found this opportunity all be myself. Most of the time, things like this don't just pop up and tap you on the shoulder. You have to put yourself out there and really search. It's very gratifying when you finally get that job you were looking for :) Thanks FI for having me on your team :)

Hello!

Hey guys :)

After meeting with some of the professionals in my field, I was inspired to start up a blog.  I will be updating this blog with my artworks.  Apparently it is better to hand out your blog address than your deviantart address :)

Some of the very awesome people I got the opportunity to meet include:

Kenji Bliss
Ty Romsa
Martin Kau
Aaron Yamada-Hanff
Sean Murray
Garret Johnson

Thank you so much you guys for coming to AIW, it was a blast.  I learned a lot, and had a good time hearing what you had to say.
